We really love our job.
B & M Land Management is proudly owned and operated by husband and wife duo Scot & Taylor Muskthel. The two are avid adventurers and LOVE spending time in the outdoors. Especially the mountains and forests.
2020 dealt the world a lot trouble. Including the Muskthels. But it also was the year of not so subtle hints that ultimately led to a life changing decision.
After a nearly 10 year stretch with the Boeing Co., Scot was unexpectedly laid-off. Hint #1. Then as the summer went on, wildfires consumed the west coast and along with it, so did the smoke. Hint #2. They had long been dreaming up the idea to venture out on our own and start a business. So, after the panic subsided, they sold their house, packed themselves, their then 3 year old daughter, their husky, and baby on the way to re-locate back to their hometown of Walla Walla, WA. It was time to seize the oppurtunity that had fallen before them to start a new adventure. Two years, two cross country road trips to start building a fleet, and countless days of planning later, B &M was officially established.
The focus is wildfire. Preventing fire, suppressing fire, and rehabilitating after a fire. After watching forests burn and being exposed to unhealthy amounts of smoke year after year, they decided the only way change would happen, is if they tried to be a part of the change. Combined, they hold over 15 years of experience in heavy equipment, mechanics, fabrication, administrative specialties, and are continuing to grow their portfolio of experience in forest management and fire mitigation.

Scot Muskthel
Owner
You will always find Scot on-site operating our machinery, where he is truly in his element! Outside of operating equipment, he is also the head mehcanic who keeps everything running smoothly. Scot’s extensive knowledge in mechanics and fabrication is a key component to keeping everything running smoothly.
Taylor Muskthel
Owner
Taylor controls nearly all of the behind the scenes administrative duties and you will likely find yourself communicating with her by phone or email. But that’s just her downtime gig. More often than not, she is up on-site with Scot, running equipment and chainsaws right alongside him.
